FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Will the dogs interact with each other?
A: No, to maintain a safe and focused environment, dogs will work individually while others wait in the car. This setup benefits reactive, anxious, young, and senior dogs by eliminating distractions and competition.
Q: What do the dogs search for?
A: We begin with Primary (food) to build confidence and drive before progressing to Secondary (odour) in later classes. This foundation ensures a strong learning progression.
Q: My dog has separation anxiety—what are my options?
A: If your dog struggles with waiting in the car, we recommend bringing a friend or family member to sit with them until they become more comfortable.
Q: What is your weather policy?
A:
- Classes will be canceled for thunderstorms or temperatures above 32°C.
- Light rain will not affect training—please bring a waterproof jacket.
Q: Will my dog become a professional detection dog?
A: No, additional specialised training is required for professional detection work. However, these classes provide a strong foundation for any future scent training.
