Grooming is essential for all canines, no matter their breed and coat type. Their nails need trimming, their coats need brushing, and in many breeds, frequent ear and skin maintenance is a must. Unfortunately, dogs tend to miss that memo at birth, so it is our job as pet guardians to help them build a positive association with grooming.

In this class, you will learn about:

The basic essentials and health benefits of regular grooming maintenance and which breeds may need special attention.

The crucial role of co-operative care and consent in creating a positive grooming experience.

How to introduce your puppy to grooming procedures to set them up for a life of stress-free grooming.

When to seek professional assistance from either a groomer or veterinary professional.

ABOUT EMMA COOK:
Emma began her grooming journey in 2014 and is a passionate advocate for animal welfare and positive bond building between pets and their people. Emma became Australia's first Fear Free Certified Groomer in 2018 and was accepted into the Pet Professional Guild Australia in 2020.
With ongoing study through Dognostics Career Centre and goals for 2023 to study through both the Delta Institute and the Pet Professional Accreditation Board, Emma has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and a desire to share her learnings with those around her with what some may consider an 'unhealthy' obsession with all things dog.
When Emma isn't shaving bums and trimming eye goobers, you'll either find her listening to podcasts and seminars about dogs, reading books about dogs, training her two beloved kelpies in either tricks or K9 Noseworks, wandering around with said kelpies on one of many sniffaris, or, if you're really (un)lucky, she might be yabbering your ear off about her menagerie of feathered and furry friends.
